Bungay Town 3, Holt Utd 1
The Black Dogs extended their recent good run with their third win in five games, beating old rivals Holt in a well-contested match.
Two second half goals did the trick, with leading scorer Alex Shreeve - retuning after a three-game absence - hitting his 14th goal in 16 games.
It took Bungay just four minutes to go ahead as Shreeve won the ball well on the edge of the area and played a one-two with Jack Child for the latter to finish well from 10 yards for his third of the season.
Holt equalised five minutes later as a forward was felled in the box. Keeper Brandon Ling dived to his left to block Jack Crane’s spot kick, but Crane was the first to the loose ball to stab it home.
As the home side took up the offensive Jackson Williams volleyed wide following a corner, before Shreeve got on to Oli Alexander’s ball forward as the keeper advanced but shot wide.
Adam Bray then found Shreeve on the run, but his lob over the keeper found the side netting.
Sam Allen cleared off the line when keeper Brandon Ling misjudged a long ball forward, and Crane fired narrowly wide in another Holt attack.
Shreeve, Andre Martens and Stan Dossett all went close before the interval.
After the break Connor Doddington fired over from 25 yards before Bungay regained the lead in the 52nd minute.
Jayden Dance’s corner was glanced on by Martens as Shreeve turned the ball home.
The home side continued to have the better of things, though Holt put a 76th minute chance wide and Ling blocked a fierce free-kick.
Bungay wrapped up the points in the 87th minute as Dance challenged the keeper for the ball on the left of the goal and it ran loose for substitute Vinnie Woolnough to sidefoot home.
On Saturday Bungay entertain Brandon Town, 2.30pm.
