Marginal conditions, a westerly force five and rain at Beccles kept most helms off the water on Sunday morning, the exception being Mark Langston in his Lightning and son, Ryan with Amy Hewitt, in their RS200.
A short course was adopted around just two marks and both remained close throughout the first race until Ryan and Amy, over powered during the gybe at two both tested the Waveney’s temperature! It was not cold apparently. The gusts continued to build and the tricky shifts were challenging for both during race two which saw both boats over more than once. First home collecting two deserving wins after some fast runs was Mark but Ryan persevered to complete the four required laps in under 30 minutes.
