The winners of this year's Quality of Place Awards have been revealed by East Suffolk Council. 

The annual accolade recognises the efforts made to conserve historic buildings and the enhancement of natural environment through high-quality design.

Anthony Speca, chairman of the council, presented the winners and highly commended projects with their awards at a ceremony at East Suffolk House on Wednesday, November 20.

Klondyke Skate Park won the Community Award, with the judges stating "the skate park was a labour of love and will be enjoyed by its many users for a long time".

The project, which was led by a local community group, transformed an underused site next to Southwold Pier into an inclusive play space for all age groups and abilities, which is accessible all year-round for locals and visitors.

Friston Hall Summerhouse won the Building Conservation Award while Creek Cabin near Reydon and The Barn at Manor Farm in Stratford St Andrew were joint winners of the Design Award.

The other projects which received highly commended at the ceremony were 198-206 London Road South and Tuttles in Lowestoft.

"The teams behind these impressive projects should be very proud of their achievements."
