A beloved arts and craft store in a market town has officially reopened after "essential maintenance" delays.

The Needlecraft Shop in Station Road, Beccles, was set to reopen at the beginning of October under the new management of Amberley Kemp.

But, due to "essential maintenance that needed to be done on the building," the shop's doors had remained shut.

Now, Ms Kemp has announced the store is officially open.

She said: "We would like to thank everyone for their patience while we have been preserving this historic building for the future.

"We can't wait to offer a warm welcome and all the crafting supplies you need for the festive season."

The shop is open Monday to Saturday between 9am to 1pm, but will be looking at opening longer later this month.

The Needlecraft Shop has been selling a range of arts and crafts for nearly sixty years, after it opened in 1967 by Wynn Baldry.

Janet Holt and Joan Moore took over the business in 2001 but they announced their plans to retire in the summer.
