Waveney's biggest beer festival is set to return this month.

Beccles Beer Festival will be held at Beccles Public Hall and Theatre from November 8 to November 10.

There will be 40 ales, ciders, and lagers to try from 23 local breweries.

There will also be two performances from local bands The Generation Gap on the Friday and Frank and The Beans on the Saturday.

On the Sunday, there will be a performance from Simon Squibb, and he will be playing in the afternoon as the festival is family-friendly on this day.

The event is free to attend and no tickets are needed.

However, festival-goers will need to purchase a £3 souvenir glass.

It is raising funds for the town' lido and the public hall.

Shaun Crowley, Beccles Lido Limited managing director, said: “Admission to our ever popular fundraiser Beccles Beer Festival is free, and there is no advance ticket required, but as in previous years you will need to buy a £3 souvenir glass for your beer.”

Festival organiser, Graham Elliott, added: “Beccles Beer Festival raises valuable funds for two amazing community assets – Beccles Lido and Beccles Public Hall.

"It also showcases the fantastic range of ales brewed in the region, with the return of many old favourites as well as lots of ales new to the festival.”

Among the returnees are Green Jack Ripper and last year’s winning ale, Worthog.

There will be bar skittles, a "beer-themed cryptic crossword" and a "silent pub quiz" with beer-related questions.

The festival will again be operating a cashless bar, selling £10 cards at the door with which to purchase your glass and beers.

The public hall bar will be open for soft drinks, bottled beers and ciders, wine and spirits.

A range of hot and cold food and snacks will also be available.

Beccles Beer Festival opens from 4pm until 11pm on the Friday, midday until 11pm on the Saturday, and midday until 6pm on the Sunday.
