A Suffolk artist's new exhibition draws on the popularity of 20th century fancy dress competitions.
Mark Copeland is showcasing a new collection called Village Revel at The Bell Gallery in Bungay.
The 29 paintings, using the theme of local folk heroes and folk tales, are set in village revels, with people from Livermere Parva dressed in homemade costumes.
The paintings include interpretations of local heroes such as Horatio Nelson and characters from folk tales like The Wild Man of Orford and The Babes in the Wood.
Each oil painting is in a vintage frame, adding to the period feel Mr Copeland has created.
The Bell Gallery's autumn exhibition features the work of five artists and will be open from Tuesday, October 29 until Saturday, November 23, from 10am to 4.30pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays.
A preview night is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, from 5pm to 8pm, where visitors can meet the artists.
