A veterinary clinic has launched a fundraising appeal to help veterans and service animals.
Wangford Veterinary Clinic has announced its Poppies 4 Paws Appeal, which aims to raise money for the Royal British Legion and Hounds for Heroes.
To support the appeal, the clinic is selling handmade poppies for pets to wear on their collars and harnesses.
Red poppies are on sale to support the Royal British Legion, while purple poppies are also on sale to commemorate the contributions of service animals in military operations.
The clinic is also selling bandanas for pets to wear.
Walter Stohr, veterinary surgeon and practice owner, said: “We are thrilled to combine our passion for pets with a cause that means so much to our community.
“By participating in the Poppies on 4 Paws Appeal, pet owners can proudly show their support of our armed forces and emergency services while celebrating the vital role that service animals play in the lives of our heroes.”
As part of the appeal, people are encouraged to upload pictures of their pets wearing the poppies to the Wangford Veterinary Clinic website.
People are also encouraged to share pictures on social media using the hashtag #Poppieson4PawsAppeal.
The clinic has said that it will post poppies to people who can't make it to the practice to collect them.
To arrange this, people should call 01502 578999.
The poppies cost £3 each, with horse poppies costing £3.50.
Bandanas range from £3 to £5.50, depending on size.
The clinic is also set to lay a purple poppy wreath at the Remembrance Service at Wangford Cenotaph.
The clinic has invited members of the public to join them for the service.
A spokesman for Wangford Veterinary Clinic said: "Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country and the animals by their side."
