Suffolk Highways has spoken out about "unacceptable behaviour" after workers on an east Suffolk project faced abuse from members of the public.
The authority received reports of swearing and shouting at worker on the White Bridge project in Halesworth.
Also known as Blyth Bridge, the route is being replaced after it was deemed unsafe by structural engineers.
It closed in August 2022 with ten weeks of works beginning a month ago following delays caused by flooding.

Suffolk Highways also received reports members of the public were removing barriers, signs and fencing to try and access the site which can cause danger.
A spokesman for the authority said: "This is unacceptable behaviour. The teams carrying out these safety improvement works are simply doing their job and do not deserve to be shouted and sworn at.
"We will not tolerate this behaviour and will continue to work with Suffolk Constabulary to seek prosecution for those found to be involved."
