Controversial land rental fees which resulted in the cancellation of a fairground may be lowered.
Beccles Fenland Charity Trust is looking at reducing day hire charges for Beccles Quay field.
The current charges sparked controversy in the summer when Stocks Fun Fair announced they would not be returning to Beccles at the end of August because the rent was increased to £2,000.
The fun fair had said it could only afford paying £1,500 to set up and run it.
A report discussed this week said the land fees were one of the most expensive in the region.
The report from Beccles Fenland Charity Trust's Development, Commerce and Strategic Planning Committee revealed both Bungay Town Council and Saxmundham Town Council charge £300 for trading days.
Beccles Town Council is the sole trustee of the trust and members had sat on that committee.
Paul Cunningham, town council clerk and member of the trust, said: "Councillors reviewed our charges against other councils and we were one of the most expensive, hence the proposal to reduce charges."
"The recommendation of the committee to full council is to reduce the charge from £400 per day to £300 per day, from April 2025," he added.

The four-day fair was originally run by the late Bert Stocks at the Beccles carnival and had been returning to the town for more than 60 years.
Sally Stocks, Mr Stock's grand-daughter in law, had said she was disappointed at the price hike and "would need the rent to come down" for the fair to consider returning next year.

At the time, Mrs Stocks said: "We are just a small family-run business and we can't afford those prices."
They were hoping to run the event on the August bank holiday weekend.
Jill Bullen, from the town, had been a regular attendee of the fair since she was 16.
She offered to donate the remaining £500 for the fair to go ahead, but was turned down by Beccles Town Council.
Responding on the proposal to lowering the fees next year, Mrs Bullen said: "I think that would be very good."
