Lynfield Care Home is celebrating after two staff members were recognised at Kingsley Healthcare’s 25th anniversary awards.
Katie Woodward, deputy manager at the Ditchingham home, won the Care Home Rising Star award.
Ms Woodward, 22, said she was inspired to begin her career as a carer at the age of 17 after caring for her sister, who has cerebral palsy, and her father, who had two strokes in 2019.
She said: “It is very rewarding learning about the individuals we support and seeing them progress.”
Judges said: “Katie has gone from strength to strength in her time as deputy manager at Lynfield, demonstrating real vision, aptitude and, above all, the right attitude."
Jo Pilbrow, who joined Kingsley in 2011 as a support worker and spent eight years at Lynfield before being promoted to operations and then group operations manager, won the Operations/Service Quality Manager of the Year award.
Ms Pilbrow, who oversees all six of Kingsley’s learning disability services, said: “I am very proud to win the award but I could not have done it without my team.”
