The head of Suffolk Freemasons has described a vandalism attack at one of the organisation's premises as a "disappointment".
Black graffiti was sprayed on the Lodge of Prudence in Halesworth with the words "scumbags the lot,” “repent, secrecy is a sin” and "no satanic games here".
Jolyon Berry, Provincial Grand Master of Suffolk Freemasons, said: “I am really disappointed that someone has defaced our building in Halesworth.
"As well as not being a secret organisation, one of our fundamental principals is to serve our communities which we do by various means, including by making a very significant contribution to local charities and good causes.

"The damage has come just after we recently held an open day at the centre which was enjoyed and well supported by residents of the town.
"Sadly it was necessary to report this incident to the police who I understand are currently carrying out investigations”.
The incident occurred on the night of September 26, and was found by members of the public and Lodge the next morning.
The lodge is located in Market Place, off Chediston Street, and is in the same building as the Market Place Artisan Shop.
