A town trust has confirmed that it will be keeping some of its land for grazing.
A Beccles Fenland Charity Trust's planning application to use vacant land by Beccles Common as a secure dog walking site had been denied by East Suffolk Council
That planning decision left the question of what will happen next to the land.
Following a fenland trust meeting, the committee has voted to keep the ground as a grazing marsh.
The application proposed a secure dog-walking site but faced objections due to a similar facility within close distance.
It was denied last month because of environmental concerns.
