A therapy centre has been forced to close its doors because the landlord is selling up.

Chedgrave Oxygen Therapy Centre, which opened in 1984, was located in the Langley Road Industrial Estate opposite the White Horse pub.

But the firm will not close permanently with a new home nearby in Thurton.

The centre uses a diving decompression chamber usually used by the offshore industry for treating the bends.

Hour-long sessions are £20 each and offer more than 98pc pure oxygen.

The treatment increases the amount of oxygen available to the patient’s tissues creating a better environment in the body to heal.

This charity is now providing support to more than 75 individuals a week and has provided 90,000 treatments to patients with various health conditions.

Rachel Bunn, chairwoman and trustee of the centre, said: “We are hoping to become a community hub, that offers other opportunities such as holistic therapies too.”

The firm is also aiming to increase opening days beyond the current three days a week.

“We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to improve their quality of life,” Ms Bunn said.

Ms Bunn also thanks everyone to who helped with the move. The centre is set to reopen later this month.
