A former shoe shop could be converted into a bar after an application to change the use of the building was submitted.
Jacob Oddy, who owns Old School Coffee situated on the same stretch of Newgate in Beccles, is the applicant for the bar bid.
He has sought pre-application advice from East Suffolk Council for the Grade II-listed premises, which was the Lollipop shoe shop.
Mr Oddy wants the retail shop to be changed to a "drinking establishment", according to a pre-application report.
Plans say the business, if approved, will be called The Printing Press Bar.
Within the documents, the applicant says they shall keep the building "structurally the same" with only "cosmetic changes" for tables and chairs.
The report states that the changes outlined "would not require Listed Building Consent".
East Suffolk Council's document adds that the full application would require a "noise impact assessment" - though no details "relating to opening hours and whether any sort of entertainment or amplified music is proposed".

Documents state that the building dates back to 1837 when it was built as a school.
The proposal adds that the full licence for the premises has been granted but needs the change of use approved before being able to sign the lease.
It states: "We will have ice machines, fridges, dishwasher etc plumbed in but with no change to supporting walls or brick walls.
"The application is to change from a retail unit to an A4 Class Use - Drinking Establishment.
"We have already obtained the Premises Licence for this space but now need the use class changed before signing the lease agreement."

Earlier this year when the licencing application was made, this paper had reported that Tanya's Beauty Salon, next door to the old shoe shop, would be where the bar was.
However, this was due to an error by East Suffolk Council which used the salon's address on their licence document which we therefore quoted.
Lollipop closed in April, with the owner deciding to move on after 17 years of running it, according to social media posts.
