Hundreds of homes were left without power after an overhead cable caught fire in a storm.
On Sunday evening a wooden pylon caught went ablaze in a field off Cucumber Lane in Beccles after witnesses said it was struck by lightning.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue attended the scene at around 8pm to put the fire out and alerted UK Power Network.
The electricity company said for "safety reasons" they had to turn off the supply of power to 294 homes in Beccles while engineers carried out repairs.
The "high voltage cables" were replaced and customers had their power restored at 1.30am - five hours after the fire started.
Shocking footage of the cable and wooden pylons on fire were shared on Facebook.

One person who lives nearby said they "felt vibrations through the floors" of their home.
Another commented that they heard an "almighty bang" when the cables caught fire.
Somebody else said they heard a "huge bang" and a "white flash".
UK Power Network apologised for "any inconvenience caused".
