After five years of meticulous planning, a couple launched their boutique holiday business, Hill Farm Retreat in Wangford.

Established by Melanie and Gavin Murray, Hill Farm Retreat started on June 23 last year.

And now the couple are celebrating a successful first year.

The holiday spot has already witnessed more than 150 bookings from couples and families nationwide, ranging from Scotland down to Cornwall.

In a further boost, Hill Farm Retreat has been rated a full five out of five on its booking platform.

Mrs Murray said:  "Guests have travelled from all over the country from Scotland down to Cornwall. We’ve received some great feedback and marked at 5 out of 5 on our booking platform.

"This location is perfect for those who want to get away from it all either as a couple or small family but want to be within easy reach of all the amazing attractions Suffolk has to offer."

The retreat has two lodges, designed to fit varied guest needs.

One lodge features child-friendly bunk beds, whereas the other is more attuned to couples.

Each lodge includes a private, sheltered hot tub providing the ultimate chill-zone.

Guests can also avail themselves of a communal barbecue area and a fire pit/pizza oven for colder nights.

Hill Farm Retreat plans to create two more lodges.

Mrs Murray added: "We have lots more ideas to add to the site in the near future that we think will make Hill Farm a real Retreat experience so watch this space."

The couple thanked their guests and local companies involved for the first successful year of operation.
