A sheltered housing facility in a Norfolk town has applied for permission to create space for nine more affordable apartments to rent.

The plans were lodged with South Norfolk Council by Adam Sliwinski to add the extra rooms at Saxon House, a supported housing centre in Loddon.

The proposal requires "alterations and refurbishment of the existing accommodation" to provide an additional nine-bed space through changing the layout of the existing building.

Through making the changes, plans say the applicant will create "new studio apartments" with "open-plan living/kitchen/bedroom space and a wet room".

Five of these will be on the ground floor, two will be on the first floor and two more will be on the second floor - the documents say that "all additional units will be for affordable rent".

Not only will the plans benefit the residents, but they will also benefit the staff, plans say.

The documents say as a result of the "internal changes to the existing building" there will be space to build a new staff room, staff office and new buggy store.

The applicant hopes to also create a laundry room and hairdresser's room, store room and library/IT room.
