Plans to extend a 20mph speed limit in a Norfolk town centre have gained traction.

Norfolk County Council has submitted plans to extend the existing 20mph limit to High Bungay Road in Loddon over safety concerns.

A Norfolk County Council spokesman said: “The proposals for High Bungay Road in Loddon would see a short extension to the existing 20mph limit, moving the current speed limit sign to the junction with Davy Place.

"The proposed changes would also see an extension to the waiting restrictions along High Bungay Road.

"The aim of the scheme is to improve safety along a relatively narrow and busy road through Loddon.

"The lower speeds and improved sightlines would help to make crossing the road safer and easier for local residents.

"The plans also seek to make it easier for bus services to travel through the area.”

People have until June 11 to submit any feedback on the changes.
