A classic musical will soon be taking to the stage in Beccles.
The Waveney Light Opera Group will perform Me and My Girl at Beccles Public Hall and Theatre in April.
This musical comedy was originally performed in 1937 but in 1985, comedian Stephen Fry introduced a revised script.

The story picks up as Lord Hareford has died and seemingly left no heir, until Bill Snibson, a Lambeth costermonger, is found.
Bill's newfound aristocratic relatives are appalled by his roots and work tirelessly to transform him into a noble.
Their objective is also to detach him from his cockney girlfriend, Sally.

This light-hearted show is enriched with funny characters, crisp humour and enjoyable music including The Lambeth Walk, Leaning On A Lamp Post, and The Sun Has Got His Hat On.
Performances will run from April 23 to April 27, starting at 7.30pm.
