The Lowestoft Palestine Solidarity Campaign has raised £1,243.15 for two charities.
The event, 'Help Gaza through music and words in Solidarity with the Palestinian People', was held on March 2 at Blyburgate Hall in Beccles.
The event aimed to introduce attendees to Palestinian culture.
Activities included a children’s workshop, where they wrote messages to Palestinian children.
David Harrold, chair of the board of trustees of the Palestine Trauma Centre, gave a speech in which he discussed the centre’s work in providing therapy to children affected by war in Gaza.
Live music was performed throughout the event by the Mudlarks, Gong Gong and John and Lynne Ward.
In addition, attendees got the chance to taste Palestinian food.
Of the funds raised, £300 went to the Palestine Trauma Centre and £943.15 to Medical Aid for Palestinians, a British charity working closely with the World Health Organisation.
It currently has workers in Gaza buying and distributing aid from local markets whenever they can find it.
At this time, Medical Aid for Palestinians are looking to supply more medical supplies and shelter supplies.
