It may have been "wetter and muddier than ever" - but the conditions didn't deter a sold out entry from enjoying a festive treat.
An annual cross country race - featuring mud, dogs and fancy dress - attracted almost 350 runners on Boxing Day morning.
Bungay Black Dog Running Club's annual 'Groggy Doggy' Boxing Day event was hailed a success.
Races for eight to 12-year-olds, a canine run and an adult run were held in "perfect weather", according to the event organisers.
With the juniors running one lap of the 1.5 mile, the adults were able to complete either one or two laps of the 2.6 mile course with or without a dog.
Prizes were presented in the male and female categories, while special awards were also handed out to the muddiest runner, best fancy dress and muddiest dog.
Tony Morley, from Bungay Black Dog Running Club, said that "with sunshine and mild temperatures" the races across Bungay's Outney Common and marshes "were wetter and muddier than ever."
He added: "But that didn't deter the sell-out crowd of almost 350 runners, many in fancy dress or running with their dogs.
"Sarah Wilby, one of the club's visually impaired runners, also tackled the race along with her guide runner.
"Junior runners up to the age of 12 were well catered for too, with their own race."
With prizes presented by the Town Reeve of Bungay, Terry Reeve, to the various winners, Mr Morley added: "It was Lucie Morran's first year as race director and she was delighted to see so many smiling faces, as runners wiped the mud off their day-old trainers, given just 24 hours before as Christmas presents.
"The club is already looking forward to another muddy good day on Boxing Day 2024."
