The prosecution case against a balaclava-clad man alleged to have attacked schoolchildren outside of a shop has been dropped.
The then 19-year-old man from Beccles had been summoned to Ipswich Magistrates' Court to face four charges of assault.
Ipswich Magistrates' Court has confirmed the case was dropped against the man who is now aged 20.
The allegations were in relation to an incident that happened outside of the Premier Store at Castle Hill in Beccles on February 2 at around 8.15am.
A man wearing a balaclava got out of a car passenger seat and punched several schoolchildren outside of the shop.
The attack led to the headteacher of SET Beccles, Neil Ketteringham, enforcing special arrangements to protect the safety of his pupils.
Police believed that the perpetrator of the assault on the schoolchildren may have been linked to an attempted hit-and-run in the area just days earlier.
The case for the hit-and-run attempt was then dropped.
