The weather is finally cool enough to head to a cosy Suffolk pub and enjoy a traditional British roast dinner.
Tripadvisor uses reviews from diners to narrow down the best establishments to tuck into a delicious Sunday lunch.
Here are seven of the highest-rated roasts in the region.
1. The Green Man Inn

Rating: 5/5
The Green Man in Tunstall was named the best pub in the region by the Southern Enterprise Awards in August.
It is the village's only pub and was reopened in 2020 by Simon and Lucia Lucas.
There does not seem to be a roast menu online for the pub, but their social media page has images of some delicious options, including a roast beef sirloin, haunch of venison and a vegetable Wellington.
2. Ufford Crown

Rating: 4.5/5
The Ufford Crown is a family-run pub in the village of Ufford.
Their roast menu is one of the most extensive on this list, with seven different options to choose from.
Highlights include their Dingley Dell pork belly, confit duck leg and nut roast.
3. Queen's Head
Where: Eye
Rating: 4.5/5
The Queens Head prides itself on being a very traditional British pub, and this ethos is reflected in its food.
There is no Sunday lunch menu advertised online, but the Tripadvisors have raved over the offering, calling the roast a 'winner' for the region.
4. White Horse Inn
Where: Stoke Ash
Rating: 4.5/5
The White Horse is located on the side of the A140and lots of people who stop are surprised by the delicious Sunday lunch on offer.
The pub has four roast options available, including roast beef, turkey, loin of pork and a nut roast, all of which come with crispy roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
5. Dennington Queen
Where: Dennington
Rating: 4.5/5
At The Dennington Queen, diners are spoilt for choice with the numerous options on the Sunday menu, including two different types of roast beef - rump and back rib.
All of the roasts come with garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables, but there is the choice to add cauliflower cheese to your lunch as well.
6. The Bell Inn
Where: Rickinghall
Rating: 4.5/5
The Bell Inn changes its menu seasonally to ensure that the produce cooked is of the freshest quality.
Ingredients are sourced from local farmers and suppliers, and Sunday lunches cost £15.95 and come in a variety of options for diners.
7. The One Bull
Where: Bury St Edmunds
Rating: 4.5/5
This is not the first time The One Bull has featured in the press for its roast dinner; in 2022 it was included in The Guardian’s article on ’30 of the best UK pubs for Sunday lunch.'
The Sunday lunch menu changes weekly, but will always feature numerous meat, vegetarian and fish options, as well as a plethora of delicious desserts.
