A body was found in the River Waveney today following a major police search for a man who went missing after the boat he was in sank.
The search operation had been launched along the River Waveney after 30-year-old Nathan Strowger went missing after a boat capsized on Monday.
Mr Strowger was with four other people when their small craft sank between Beccles and Oulton Broad on Monday night.
It led to a late-night search followed by further searches by the emergency services on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Today (June 13) Suffolk police confirmed a body had been found in the river by a member of the public at 9.50am by North Cove.
Police said while the body had not been formally identified, Mr Strowger’s family has been informed.
The boat is believed to have capsized in between the Worlingham and Barnby boat moorings.
Coastguard, fire and ambulance crews were also at the scene today assisting police.
Joining the searches earlier in the week was a friend of Mr Strowger, Adam Winyard.

Mr Winyard, 28, had said Mr Strowger lived on a boat on the Waveney.
An angler, who wished to remain anonymous, said he witnessed the recovery of the body.
He said: "The services were incredibly professional and I can't commend them enough.
"It is absolutely awful, a true reminder as to how dangerous the river can be, it was shocking to see but I am glad we can trust our services.
"Our thoughts are with his family."
Another fisherman said the services were efficient and thorough in their search.
A Suffolk police statement said: "Although the deceased has not been formally identified, he is currently believed to be the missing man and his family have been informed of the discovery."
