A Suffolk village could be set for expansion after plans were lodged to build 18 new homes there.

If approved the development would see the construction of the homes in a patch of land west of Locks Road in Westhall, near Halesworth.

The patch of land is bounded on two sides by existing residential homes and to the west of the land is a community playing field.

The plans show a mix of homes ranging from one to four-bedroom properties, which the applicant says "provides compliance with local planning policies".

In the plans, applicant Paul Feavearyear says the design is "sensitive to the area" and "respects the immediate setting".
