"I am proud to represent this fantastic town."
That is the message from the new Beccles Carnival Queen, Miranda Hyde, who is set to enjoy an ambassadorial role for the town and promote its strong community spirit.
The mother-of-one, who works in the NHS and is a PhD student, said she was delighted to take on the role.
She said: "I love the fact that Beccles is a traditional market town with a fantastic community, and great facilities for all ages. Everyone in the town is friendly.
"I wanted to be Beccles ambassador because I think it is a great opportunity to support the carnival team and to help promote Beccles at various events during my forthcoming year and show people that we still have a fantastic carnival in Beccles which is growing in size again yearly.
"I am very much looking forward to meeting and talking to lots of new people at all the events I get to attend.

"The main Beccles Carnival day on August 20 is going to be great as we ambassadors get to be on a lorry and head the carnival parade through the streets of our beautiful town."
Ms Hyde has chosen to raise funds for the Beccles Forget-Me-Nots club, which is for people with memory problems and people with dementia and their carers.
The queen's attendants have also been revealed.
The two Beccles Carnival princesses are Jaimia Woolnough, 10, and Phoebe Jackson, eight.
Making up the quartet of town ambassadors is carnival prince Lionel-John Richards, aged nine.
The princesses and prince have named Beccles Public Hall and the town's skatepark as their chosen good causes to support.
The Beccles Carnival parade is due to start at 1pm on Sunday, August 20. For updates follow Beccles Carnival on Facebook.
