A bid to get more swimmers using a popular lido in the mornings has been scuppered following a noise complaint.
Beccles Lido had introduced a 6am swim slot, but following a complaint the experiment has had to be cancelled.
The trial for the 6am sessions began on Monday, April 3.
But in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Beccles Lido said the trial has been scrapped following a noise complaint over people in the car park idling engines, slamming vehicle doors and playing radios loudly.
The post read: "Unfortunately we are having to end our trial period for 6am swims.
"While we have been pleased with the attendance of the sessions, and happy to see some new faces that may otherwise have been unable to swim with us in the mornings, our neighbours have made a noise complaint and we have to be respectful of the local residents."
In a follow up post, Beccles Lido acknowledged the support from pool users and explained why the complaint had been lodged.
The comment said: "Thank you for your comments of support, but to clarify the noise complaint centres on a few of our customers who have sat in the car park with idling engines, radios playing loudly and slamming doors between 5.40am and 6am.
"We have to coexist and respect our neighbours, who already accept and tolerate the large volume of traffic over the summer season and the disruption and noise that brings."
The lido will be continuing with its 7am swimming sessions, which are very popular.
The pool is heated to 28C and is open every day until October for lane swimming, family sessions and aquacise classes.
Improvements have been made to the lido over the winter, including improving the heating of the pool.

The Big Dog Ferry, owned by Beccles Lido, also launched on April 1 to offer boat trips along the picturesque River Waveney from Beccles Lido to the Locks Inn at Geldeston.
Beccles Lido collaborates with The Canoe Man to offer kayaks and stand-up paddleboards from the lido.
