Bungay Museum is preparing to launch a new friends' group alongside its annual reopening on Saturday, April 1.
Volunteers have been busy getting ready for the grand reopening of the museum, which celebrates the history of the town and aims to boost tourism.
But there will first be a preview event, at the museum in Broad Street, on Saturday, March 25.
Anyone is welcome to visit between 3.30pm and 7pm to learn about the museum and the collections displayed in the two rooms in the Town Council Offices.
Jacqueline Holmes, museum trustee, said: "We are really excited to open on Saturday, welcoming people back to the museum for the first time in what feels like a very long time.
"We have been working really hard and have got the museum looking truly beautiful ahead of the opening.
"We really want to put Bungay on the map, celebrate the past and give the businesses here a boost."
The museum, which is a charitable trust, will also be launching a friends' group.
The group will fundraise for the museum, and its members will be able to volunteer their time and expertise to help with the running of the museum.
Mrs Holmes said: "It would be great to see as many people there during the afternoon, and it would be great to sign people up as friends of the museum."
Membership of the friends' group will run from April 1 to March 31 annually.
It will cost £10 per person or £18 for a couple for 2023-2024, and additional donations are always welcome.
Bungay Museum was established in 1963.
It displays items relating to the heritage, society and businesses of the town, and there are areological remains from the pre-historic, Roman and Saxon eras, as well as a model of Bungay Castle.
