People that live near the site of a large fire are being urged to keep windows shut due to the possibility of hazardous materials being nearby.
A number of fire crews were called to the blaze at a community centre in Rectory Lane in Worlingham at about 2.50am on Friday.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a single storey derelict building that was fully alight.
The old community centre, which was involved in the fire, has been destroyed by the blaze.
Nearby residents are now being told to keep their windows and doors shut.
A spokesman for East Suffolk Council said: "Following a fire at a property in Rectory Lane, Worlingham during the early hours of this morning, we are working with Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and a specialist contractor to clear potentially hazardous material from the incident site and the surrounding area."
Work to remove the potentially hazardous material could take two days and priority will be given to clearing the surrouning residential properties, the spokesman added.
Whilst risks to the public are low, nearby residents are asked to continue to keep their doors and windows closed until further notice.
Anyone who suspects they have any debris from the fire in their garden should contact East Suffolk Council on 03330 162000.
