A south Norfolk tennis club formed just nine months ago has netted a top award for helping to spread the love of the sport.
Loddon Tennis Club has been named the ‘Norfolk Tennis Club of the Year’ at the annual Lawn Tennis Association's Tennis Awards.
The regional recognition comes just nine months after Paul Solomon opened the club after investing thousands of his own money into it.
Club member Julia Harrington says the work is “all down” to Mr Solomon’s unwavering commitment and passion.
Mrs Harrington, who was at the awards ceremony and does admin work for Mr Solomon, said: “It is incredible that we have been recognised with such a wonderful accolade, we are all so proud.
“It is all down to Paul and his amazing hard work, he has thrown so much time and commitment, going above and beyond, to make the club a success.”
The club now has 109 members since it opened in June and offers an array of varying sessions, with its youngest member five, and the eldest member 80.
Mrs Harrington said: "With the youngest aged five and the oldest aged 80, our club caters for a diverse mix of ages and abilities, we are welcoming more people to come along.

"There are so many different classes from individual sessions and something for everyone.
"We are a friendly bunch and I know the club won't stop here and we have big ambitions to kick on further.
“If someone said that one day a Loddon player one day goes on to Wimbledon I wouldn’t be surprised."
On behalf of the club, Mrs Harrington thanked Loddon Parish Council and the Loddon and Chedgrave Playing Field Committee for their support of the club
