Halesworth's residents have voted overwhelmingly to accept a new Neighbourhood Plan set to shape the future of the town.
Halesworth's Neighbourhood Plan was voted in with 84pc of the participating electorate voting yes to the plan.
With 875 voters, there were 739 votes in favour of the plan and 136 not in favour.
A total of 21.7pc of the electorate turned out to vote which is higher than Bungay had in its recent neighbourhood plan referendums.
The principal purpose of Halesworth's Neighbourhood Plan was to guide development within the town
It provides guidance to anyone wishing to submit a planning application for development within the town - the document lasts up until 2036.

This means that the plan will now come into effect and that it will therefore be taken into account when any planning applications in Halesworth are considered by East Suffolk Council.
The town will also benefit from increased community infrastructure levy money for future projects.
In Bungay's recent Neighbourhood Plan referendum 522 people voted, representing 13pc of the town's population.
