A care home is set to launch a new event.
Brooke House Care Home, in Brooke Gardens, Brooke will be hosting its first free bakery, coffee and cake morning from 10.30am to noon on Friday, February 3.
The event, to be held on the first Friday of every month, is open to the community.
Hospitality manager Kellie O’Dea said: "We are delighted to be able to open up our home for events like this after the loneliness of the pandemic lockdowns.
"It’s important for our residents to feel a connection with their local community.
"There are lots of dedicated carers looking after people at home and we hope this can be a welcome social occasion for them."
Mrs O’Dea and her colleague, senior support worker Sam Benson, are keen bakers and will be making delicious cakes each time.
While the event is seen as a social occasion and an opportunity for a chat, the Brooke House team will also be available to offer advice if your family has any care needs.
