A stolen boat is under 'examination' by Norfolk police after it was found abandoned ten miles downstream of where it was taken.

The boat was stolen on December 28 from its mooring at Loddon Marina.

Ten days later, and ten miles from where the boat was moored, the Lily of Wayford was discovered by police near Somerleyton.

A Norfolk police spokesperson said: "It was found on the River Waveney near Somerleyton and has since been towed to a secure location for CSI examination.

"We are appealing for information and any witnesses or CCTV from properties along the River Yare and River Waveney upstream to the River Chet and downstream from where it was found."

Call police on 101.
