Bungay can consider themselves incredibly unlucky to come away from this game with at the very least not earning a point.

Wanderers finished second in the league last year and although Bungay are newly promoted, for the majority of the game they dominated the play.

Bungay came close within five minutes when Michelle Stanborough’s effort beat the keeper, only to be denied by the post.

The first half saw much of the same with Bungay playing the ball round well and having a number of oppotunities, but to be denied by the experienced Wanderers keeper.

Bungay kept pressing and Amber Rowland and Imo Williams controlled the wings well, and also had a number of oppotunities denied by the keeper.

Lauren Mickleburgh came close from close range as Wanderers failed to clear from a corner but she put the ball over the bar.

The second half started much the same with Bungay controlling the play, the most clear cut chance fell to Imo Williams who uncharacteristically shot wide from six yards.

Wanderers, however, were the first to score when a corner found the head of the incoming player, giving keeper Leah Shepperd no chance.

Bungay heads seem to drop as more attempts at goal were saved by the Wanderers keeper and a lapse in defending saw Wanderers add to their tally, despite Leah Shepperd keeping the initial attempt out of the goal.

Bungay did have a last attempt and a high cross from the right wing was met by Jo Oakley who produced nothing short of a spectacular finish to finally beat the Wanderers keeper.

Bungay looked for the equalizer but the whistle followed shortly after.

Bungay will take great heart from this game and look to build on finishing the chances they have in future games.
