GLENYS BOYD On behalf of the whole family, it is with great sadness I have to let you know that our loving mother Glenys, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on Saturday afternoon October 6th. She was at the care home Broadlands overlooking the beautiful Broads which she loved. The staff were exceptional, friendly, very caring and kind making her last years comfortable and enjoyable. In July, she celebrated her 90th birthday with a family lunch and jazz garden party with many old friends which she thoroughly enjoyed. It was only in the last week that she was no longer her active and vivacious self, she was never the less very calm and comfortable. As you know she led a very full and energetic life, organising fundraising events and supporting many causes locally and nationally such as the NSPCC, the Lions Club, the Conservative Association and of course her great love the Flower Club. She was always very keen to learn new skills and after retiring from working for Whitbread in Great Yarmouth, the University of the Third Age filled the gap as she continued to update her computer, stain glass, patchwork and crafting skills. The funeral service will be held at the new Waveney Crematorium in Ellough, NR34 7XE near Beccles at 12 noon on Friday, October 19th to be followed by a reception with buffet at the Waveney House Hotel, Beccles, NR34 9PL from 1.30 p.m. onwards. We look forward to seeing you there to share some happy memories and celebrate Glenys life, as we pay our respects to this wonderful generous lady.
