BRYAN BOAKES (Boko)

Published on 31/01/2020

BOAKES BRYAN (Boko) Bryan passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020, aged 86 years, at the James Paget Hospital with his wife, Mavis, and his grandson by his side. Bryan spent most of his working life at the Eastern Coach Works where he was employed as a sheet metal worker and was known as “Boko”. He enjoyed an active social life playing football and darts in his early days and was always partial to a pint. Bryan was quiet with a dry sense of humour, happy to be in the background, until you knew him. More recently he suffered from Parkinsons which was sapping the life from him and ultimately played a major part in his passing. Bryan leaves us as a friend, husband, brother, dad, grandad and more recently great-grandad. Although he never had the opportunity to see his first great grandchild we are all happy knowing they spent a short time together on earth before his passing. The Funeral Service for Bryan will be held at the Great Yarmouth Crematorium, Gorleston, on Friday, February 7th at 12:15 p.m. with food and drinks in the Norman Warrior, Lowestoft, immediately after. If you knew Boko and would like to say goodbye please join us. Finally, as Parkinsons has taken two special people in Mavis’s life her husband Bryan and her brother Don we ask people to donate to the Parkinsons Organisation via https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/donate rather than buy flowers or other gifts.
